PDMS (Plant Design Management System) as it is known in the 3D CAD industry, is a customizable, multi-user and multi-discipline, engineer controlled design software package for engineering, design and construction projects in offshore and onshore.
Achieve cost efficiency, improve safety and keep the schedule in your construction projects: With Tekla software you can coordinate with both plant design software and fabrication machinery, while accurate quality information in 3D models brings benefits throughout the lifecycle of an industrial facility. Our Project Management team utilizes Plant Design Management System (PDMS). Bidding proposal and evaluation phase, through pipe layout, 2D and 3D layout plans. IndiaCADworks is your trusted PDMS partner for five simple reasons. Nodame cantabile episode 2.
The Computer-Aided Design Centre (or CADCentre as it was more commonly referred to, and later formally became) was created in Cambridge, England, UK in 1967 by the UK Ministry of Technology. Its mission was to develop computer-aided design techniques and promote their take-up by British industry. The centre carried out much pioneering CAD research, and many of its early staff members went on to become prominent in the worldwide CAD community, such as brothers Dick Newell and Martin Newell.[1]
Dick Newell oversaw the creation of the Plant Design Management System (PDMS) for 3D process plant design. He later co-founded two software companies – Cambridge Interactive Systems (CIS) which was known for its Medusa 2D/3D CAD system, and Smallworld with its eponymous Smallworld GIS (Geographical Information System). Martin Newell later went to the University of Utah where he did pioneering 3D solid modelling work; he was also one of the progenitors of PostScript.
Subsequently the UK government, via the British Technology Group (BTG) established a separate company, Compeda Ltd, to exploit software developed and owned by the government and they took over the marketing and user support of PDMS, while the software continued to be developed by the CADCentre, with funding from Compeda.
When the UK government decided to privatise (sell) anything that did not need to be government owned, Compeda Ltd was sold to Prime Computer Inc. for a net negative sum of money. Prime Computer decided that PDMS had no commercial value or future and returned the marketing rights for the product to CADCentre.
3par cli guide. The MIB’s are a collection of managed objects identified by Object Identifiers (OID). These OID list the characteristics of the devices that can be managed. 3PAR and SNMP. 3PAR has its own SNMP agent built into the device. The 3PAR MIB is contained within the 3PAR CLI download. The HP 3PAR SNMP agent supports SNMPv3, SNMPv2c, SMI-v2 standards. How about using the MIB file from the 3PAR admin tools CD. Convert the MIB to a OIDLIB using Paesslers MIB converter. In PRTG, you will add an SNMP Library sensor and use the new OIDLIB file. Understand that the 3PAR SNMP Agent exposes a handful of basic system properties, such as system name, description, location and contact, and is limited to snmpget monitoring of CPU Stats (see the new 3PAR OS 3.3.1 cpuStatsMIB), while the ThreeParMIB.mib provides support for SNMP ‘alertNotify’ Traps (all alerts coming in under a common OID today).
CADCentre was privatised and in 2001 changed its name to AVEVA.
The latest release, as of July 2015, is AVEVA PDMS 12.1.SP4.23[2]

The Project Creation Wizard simplifies the process of creating a project through a series of forms. The wizard can be used to create Plant projects, along with the project variables.
- Open the wizard, by selecting Project Creation Wizard from the AVEVA Start Programs group.
Project | Enter a Project ID, which can be up to 8 alphanumeric characters. |
Code | Enter a Project Code, which must be exactly 3 alphabetic characters (A-Z). |
Address | Enter a valid path for storing the Project Folder, or use the Browse button to search for a suitable location. |
Browse | Opens a standard folder browser which can be used to change the path. |
Project Variables | Displays the Project Variables form. Before displaying the Project Variable form, the Wizard validates all fields and prompts you to enter any missing values or amend an incorrect entry. |
Existing Projects. | Displays the Existing Projects form which lists existing projects created by the Project Creation Wizard. |
Create | Creates the Project Folders in the path specified in the Address field. |
Details | Displays the Project Details form allowing you to enter Project attributes. |
Dismiss | Closes the form. |
Note: The Project, Code and Address Fields must be filled in. Spaces are not allowed. If any of the fields are empty, the Create button will remain inactive.
- Click on the Details button to open the Project Details dialog box. Enter the details in the Number, Name, Description, and Message fields.
Note: This is used to populate the information forms in DESIGN and ADMIN modules.
Number Enter project number Note: This Number value must be the same as the Project value.
Name Enter a meaningful project name Description Enter a description Message Enter a message or additional descriptive information - Click on the OK button to apply the project details, the Project Details form will close and you are returned to the initial project creation form.
- By default, the Project folders will be created in the Main Project folder, and the user can edit them by clicking the Project Variables button, which displays the variables and the values set for the basic project variables. An additional two variables are available which must be checked on if required.
- To add extra project areas, select or enter the number in the Extra Project Areas field.
- If you wish to change the location of any of these Project folders, right click on the row of the corresponding variable, and then browse to find the alternative location.Note: The wizard only allows changes before the Project is created. Once the Project is created changes can be done manually, or by using a suitable utility.
- Click on the Apply button to save the values of the variables, and the extra project information. To create the folders, click the Create button on the initial project creation form.
- Once the Details and Project Variables have been configured, click on the Create button to create the project.
- Click the Existing Projects button on the main Project Creation Wizard form to load and browse the existing list of projects created by the Project Creation Wizard.
- The Existing Projects screen lists information about existing projects. This screen is intended only for browsing the list of existing projects, and cannot be used to change existing projects. You can however filter the display by Project or Code in the drop- down box, and then search the list for a string by entering a value in the textbox.
- Click Dismiss button to close the form.
